I am obsessed with green tea. Ever since I tried it for the first time, I have gone through entire gallons in less than a 24 hour period of time, on more than one occasion. I usually don't even realize how much of it I'm drinking.
Today I reorganized my wall space to hang up some of my art work. I have only a small section done but once I turn my room into a "gallery" I think it'll look somewhat impressive. I like being surrounded by photos that not only I have taken, just to keep me motivated and inspired.

Today I tried out scrap booking. I've always had the stuff to do it, and a little bit of interest in it, I just never actually got around to it. So I looked into it a little more and had my girlfriend help me out, and I think it may be fun but I just don't know where to start. I googled some ideas and there's soo many I want to try, and the fact that I'm a perfectionist about stuff like this is stressing me out and making it a lot harder than it needs to be.

I have always loved drawing, ever since I can remember. I've never been super amazing at it, but it's just something I have fun doing. Even when I wrote the little books I talked about in an earlier post, I drew pictures for them. I especially enjoyed learning new drawing styles and techniques when I attended CCAD in Columbus. I think I definitely became better at it while I was there, being surrounded by people who were serious about it just motivated me to keep working harder.

Our 44th President
All eyes are on America, and President Obama.
Today was an inspirational day to me, and watching Barrack Obama's speech after he won the election, and then seeing him inaugurated just brings out the reality of the subject. I voted for Obama because I believed he was the one that could Unite our country the way it was meant to be. This whole "history making" event has made me realize just how proud we should all be of this country and what it can do. I think Obama has made us remember who we are as Americans and what this nation has gone through to be where it is today.
If we are to pull ourselves together and bring glory back to this nation, we need to start somewhere. I feel we should start by showing Former President Bush some well deserved respect. I see negative comments towards him on the news, and a boo-ing crowd at the National Mall and I feel that people just ignore Obama's call for unity. Bush is an American, and although I myself am unhappy with some of his decisions as President, he still had his shining moments. After addressing the rescue workers at Ground Zero, he had the highest approval rating of any President. I think we have all forgotten that man speaking on that pile of rubble, and I think as Americans we need to step up and start making the Change that Obama has called on us to do, and respect Bush, and all other Americans, so that we can indeed be united.

So now that I'm getting used to portraits, and expanding on that, I need to work hard on night portraits. I tried the other night and along with the cold, it was kind of a disaster. It'll take a lot more work, researching, and practice to get some good night portraits. Portraits in general is always something I've struggled with in the area of Photography.
So tomorrow (today rather) is Obama's inauguration. There's a lot of hype around him already, and although I have faith in him, I think there is too much expectation in change coming immediately.

In the last couple of years I have developed a love for cars and it has become kind of a hobby of mine. My favorites are "tuner" cars, with a manual transmission. I got a Ford Focus ZX3 with a 5 speed manual transmission, solid black. I love my car, and I love working on it and occasionally during the summer I get to run it at the track.
Often times I'll just drive around town with no real destination, I just love being behind the wheel.

Since this last week the temperatures have been below zero, and it has me missing summer like crazy. The other night it was so cold that my fingers stuck to the side of my car, and it burned my bare skin. Spring cannot come soon enough. Oh and I forgot to mention the 20 inches of snow on the ground, that my car can barely make it through.
Scene One, Act One.
As my last photoblog post stated, I love to write. I was looking through some of my old writings, and I found something I had put together last year, and how much more it appeals to me now than it did then. As a follow-up, I think it's appropriate to share it on here.
I'm making a scene, so walk this with me
Reveal to me the destination,
that this twisted uphill pathway leads.
Replace the tracks and treads of the mainstream
As I keep from stumbling for those who hinder us,
using their bait as stepping stones and bridges
to walk high above the raging river.
And when the waters are calmed may they see your reflection
in this desire fueled by faith and endurance.
We walk with concentrated visions
and hearts like open books,
a story after your own, with alternate endings
and admissions of guilt,
you stand beside us with the turning of every page.

The camera I am holding in my hands is what started it all. It opened my eye to photography, it sparked my interest, unlocked the door, turned on the light, however you wish to say it. It is the same camera my Grandfather used while he was stationed in Oklahoma in the military. It no longer works as a camera, but is my greatest inspiration.

For the year 2009, I am going to do 365 self-portraits, one per day, for the whole year. I will be able to look back at these and see how I have changed physically, and see my change as a photographer and how I grow throughout the year.
Today was a day of football. I watched games all day, and thus far they have all been disappointments. However I have much to look forward to this year, and am being optimistic past day one.
