Walk it off

What lies at your feet is always easier to see than the distant future or even the past, but remember what you've learned and stay focused on the path you're walking.

Footprints

Some footsteps leave more of a mark than others, deeper, more defined, and they don't fade away as fast or at all. It all depends on what you step on.

Farewell Florida

I love the warm weather, the golf courses, and the smell of the ocean down here in Florida. The beach is my absolute favorite. But I'm glad to be going home to my love.

A different reflection

Today was as glorious as the sky over Sanibel. I love you.

My heart sank with the sunset

This may not be the greatest sunset ever photographed, but it has personal meaning to myself.

Spread those wings

So I'm finally in Florida but there's an ugly shadow constantly in the back of my mind. I find it difficult to go about my day and stay focused on anything. I think way too much and I can't sleep very well. As far away as I am, I still just can't get free from it.

Caryville

I should be in Florida by Saturday, we stopped in Caryville, TN for the night. This hotel is impressive, HD television, a ton of space, a huge bathroom, and a lake view. Traffic getting out of Ohio sucked, typical construction tie-ups.

Side Note: Rima's Diner is a must! And I want to spend a day in Cincinnati shooting pictures.

Florida bound.

It's been a few years since I've been there, and the first time since I became devoted to Photography. So excited.

A Walk I'll Remember

One of my favorite aspects of photography is making an object look appealing that otherwise people don't even notice. This raggedy old dock has sat out in front of my Grandparents' house since before I can remember, along with 5 or so more that are just like it. I was bored one afternoon waiting for the Ohio State game to come on and my Grandparents to come home, so I wondered around out front just before the sun went down. I couldn't ask for more perfect reflections in the water or the warm glow of the sun.

A Recent Favorite

I snapped this photo one day while trying out my new camera. It was only my second or third time using this camera, and it had been awhile since I was just out shooting pictures as I saw them. This one is my favorite from that particular day.

I titled this photo "Dressed for the Occasion", being that it was near the end of fall and this tree had nearly no leaves left. The tree is "dressed" for winter, the occasion.
